Grocery Shopping Rules
5" x 5".
Watercolor on Aquabord....sealed.
I think other painters will agree with me that we don't buy our produce just for eating and we definitely don't wait to choose the good ones to paint after we get them home...we may buy them only on the way they look with painting them in mind. I was at a grocery store lining these pears up and judging them by the way they sat and looked when the produce worker stopped and asked if I bought my fruit only if they sat upright? The only thing I could think of at the time was...".No, they just have to sit the way I want them to". (Cherries are a whole different story).
The wonderful thing about Aquabord is that this watercolor painting is sealed and does not need to be hung with a matting or behind glass.
$25.00 plus $10.00 domestic postage. $30.00 International postage.

United to Weather Life's Storms
14" x 11".
Acrylic on stretched canvas.
Title...United To Weather Life's Storms.
I live in an aspen grove and this is an acrylic painting of the aspens in the yard. There use to be a 4th tree, but we had to have it cut down because it got hit by lightning and it was seriously leaning toward the house. I look at these trees everyday surviving the seasons and they have taught me a valuable life lesson...you can survive the bumps in life of you have the support of others.
Here, the sun shines everyday, even if it is snowing 10"...so that is why I painted a yellow underpainting. A lot of the texture of that underpainting and the applied paint was made by using plastic wrap...paint, crinkle plastic wrap, press down, weight it down, let dry and pull off the plastic wrap....oh la la....texture.
$60.00 plus $15.00 domestic postage. $30.00 international postage.

Morning Light...Elk Lake, Oregon
Morning Light...Elk Lake, Oregon...marina...Plein Air.
11-3/4" x 6-1/2".
Watercolor on watercolor paper.
This was my second day at this location. The first day was a zoo being a weekend at a lake resort...to many people and events going on. The next time I went, it was less congested and even though steamy, the morning light allowed nice reflections (it had been 28* that night in August!!) I had all the intent to paint my support horizontally, but after a few thumbnail sketches, I decided on painting it vertically. It made my support top heavy and since I don't use an easel, I had to find the right height and located tree stump to support my heavy board.
$55.00 plus $10.00 domestic postage. $30.00 international postage.

It's Late & I'm Almost Home
Watercolor & Pastel on watercolor paper.
9" x 6"
"It's Late & I'm Almost Home"
Pelican Butte as seen from Doak Mt., Oregon.
I live 30 miles from the closest town and on the nights I get home late...I'm always glad to see this scene, as it is only 9 more miles till I arrive at home and I've made it over the one mountain pass.
There are a few line textures inscribed onto the watercolor paper (the sky and middle ground mountains). When the watercolor is washed over them...the paint settles down in the recessed areas, showing up a different color than the non-textured areas.

Klamath Lake
7" x 17"
Watercolor and Ink on Watercolor Paper
This is a Plein Air painting. I did the ink drawing first and then painted on the watercolor. Klamath Lake (Oregon) and marina as viewed from Moore Park. This is a high dessert lake (4200ft) and it is about 30 miles long by 8 miles wide. This view is in town on the southern shore. The lake is not very deep and often develops ocean-like waves and white caps.
The day I painted this was a beautiful June day with some wind...the Grebes were talking and their babies were riding on their Mom's back... and Egrets, Herons, Pelicans, Geese and uncountable amount of birds kept me company.
$45.00 plus $10.00 domestic postage....$30.00 international postage.

Woven Landscape........Sold
Sold12" x 9"
Watercolor on Watercolor Paper.
Orange never has been a favorite color for me and I have surprised myself lately by liking the blue and orange complementary colors. This painting was great fun to create. First I painted a basic stylized landscape, then on another piece of watercolor paper, I wildly painted orange, green, neutrals and sprayed a lot of colors on top of that...then I cut that painting into strips. I wove the strips into the original landscape after cutting parallel lines.
